Kouvolan RRT terminaalissa toimivat ja sinne sijoittuvat yritykset, verkkokauppaa harjoittavat yritykset, jälleenmyyjät ja jakeluvarastot, logistiikkajärjestelmien sekä digitaalisen lastinseurannan, kunnon ja laadun varmistusta kehittävät yritykset, logistiikkapalvelujen tuottajat.
Kouvolan RRT terminaaliin sijoittuvat yritykset, kaupunki, Kymenlaakson Satama konsepti, liikenneinfran kehittäjät ja suunnittelijat.

Varikko, railway RDI –centre –project main goal was to establish new environment of innovation for companies, educational institutes and students to co-operate. Key points were to:
• create a new environment to study end develope railwaylogistics and services
• create opportunities for innovation and knowhow to meet
• open a development and testing environmetn for projects in field of railway logistics and offer opportunities for students in project work
The key points of this project was to connect students, developers, educational institutes and companies in the field of railway logistics in Kymenlaakso area. To make the co-operation as smooth as possible, we created new ways to study and do projects in different places, the web, simulation environmets, outdoors and company environmets. We executed student projects for three companies were the subject for project was a real life task or problem to solve. The students were recruited for each project and they worked as a team for joint goal with the company. Varikko organized working environments and coached teams during the projects. Result for these projects were successful and companies want to continue co-work with Xamk railwaylogistics in later projects.
Along with starting the Varikko learning and innovation environmet, there was an additional goal to increase the conspicuousness of Kouvola as a railway city and emphasize Kouvola TEN-T (Trans European Network - Transport) status of railway and roadterminal city of Finland. One of the studentprojects was aiming to search products witch would benefit the most of the new railwaycorridor between Kouvola and Xián, China. The results of the project were published in TrackAsia seminar, witch was one of the seminars that Varikko facilitated. The seminar audience were mostly companies in field of Asia trade and logistics. To help students and companies to meet and discuss about jobs, we facilitated TrackYourself recruiting seminar for students. Companies that participated the seminar gave a presentation about their company and open positions in the field of railway logistics.
To aim Varikko goal of starting develop co-operation with educational institutes, companies and students together, we facilitated Trackathon seminar in Kouvola Railwaytechnical Education Centre (ROK). ROK is a new simulation environment for railway education in Kouvola. To endorse Kouvola region railway and logistics knowhow and education Varikko facilitated five info workshops about Kouvola railway education, Kouvola RRT-environment and ROK educational environment. For increasing the knowledge about railwaylogistics, we produced a video about Kouvolas possibilities in railway and logistics education and job possibilities in logistics and railways.
To endorse Lean understanding and methods for developing Varikko prepared educational material of Lean and facilitated three workshops for companies about Lean –tools. The point was to help companies to develop their work with Lean. After this project, the Lean tools are ready to use forward in education and company development with Xamk.
