The main target of the Panka 2020 Project is to significantly strengthen company's long-term competitiveness as speciality cartonboard producer. In accordance with the Pankaboard's strategy, The Panka 2020 Project consist of investments to the factory's capability to produce high added value speciality cartonboard products for selected end-uses. It also effects to revenue growth and profitability. Panka 2020 project will help to strengthen its well-being in the municipality of Lieksa, North Karelia, through increased subcontracting and new jobs in Pankaboard. Environmental values are also taken into account.

The goal of the Panka 2020 project was to significantly strengthen Pankaboard's competitiveness as a special cardboard mill. In accordance to the strategy, the Panka 2020 project invested in the production capacity to manufacture special cardboard products of high value for selected end uses. The project aimed to increase turnover and profitability. The company strengthened well-being in North Karelia's municipality of Lieksa in the form of increasing subcontracting and new jobs. Investments were made with environmental values. Pankaboard grew into a large company and employed new staff in line with the target and is an important employer in North Karelia. Increasing digitization and improving skills strengthened Pankaboard's image worldwide. A desired employer, because the project had great effects in increasing high technology. Efficiency improved in the production processes. Quality analysis also improved considerably and strengthens ESG in the green transition.
