3 Plan-specified summary of the project completion

The need for the Kpedu Rekry project has arisen since the employers of Central Ostrobothnia have long been reporting their recruitment problems. From the point of view of Central Ostrobothnia, the key questions are how to get as many of our students attached to the jobs in the area as possible, and at least keep the employment rate at the current level. The Ostrobothnian Employment Office, the Ostrobothnian Chamber of Commerce and the City of Kokkola have been involved in the preparation of the project. The project is implemented and managed by The Federation of Education in Central Ostrobothnia (Kpedu).

The aim of the Kpedu Rekry project is to promote and accelerate the transition of students from KPEDU to work.

objectives:

1. Improve students' job search and employment skills
2. Improve the employment guidance services provided by Kpedu to its students
3. Increase the interest of Kpedu students in working life in the region and highlight the students as potential employees / future professionals

Results / Effects:

As a result of the project, the quality and quantity of career guidance services supporting student employment and further education will increase during the project. In the long term, the placement of Kpedu students in the region's employment during and after their studies will improve and recruitment of employers will be facilitated.

The project promotes sustainable development by improving the employability of employers in the area through the services and cooperation models developed in the project.
The project is gender neutral and offers all Kpedu students equal access to career and employment services during their studies and graduation. A particular focus is on students with an immigrant background.

9 Final report summary

The aim of the project was to improve students' job-seeking and employment skills, as well as to improve
career guidance services that promote employment and to increase the interest of region’s employers
towards Kpedu students.
The project created a career counsellor model in which each study sector has a career counsellor, from
whom individual and group guidance can be obtained, and who acts as a contact person in organising
working life days and company visits. At the end of the project, the continuation of career counsellors in the
divisions will be decided by the management team of the Central Ostrobothnia Education Federation. In
addition to individual working life days in the divisions, the lobby event Urabuusteri “Career booster” was
piloted, which successfully reached students.
Career guidance activities were developed by creating various tools for reaching and guiding students.
Kpedu Rekry's own website has published numerous alumni podcasts and videos supporting career
guidance, as well as career maps in the area, which help students in finding their own career paths. In
addition, project workers worked continuously with stakeholders in the region to promote the transition
phase of students from studying to working life.
The project introduced the Kpedu Jobi job search application, which has been implemented for students,
guidance staff and employers in the area. Kpedu Jobi is a free job search application for the user, which still
needs more time to act as a job search support measure in every industry. The development work will
continue after the project has ended.
The project enabled career counsellors to receive numerous trainings related to guidance and organised
career coaching for guidance staf
